Sky Mansion

Sited close to the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center in Xiaoshan District, the property owes its inspiration of design to the misty rain and intriguing landscape in Hangzhou. The kindergarten seems to embrace the Xizhao Mountain with its undulating roofs. The main body of the building is constructed of blue gray screen printing aluminum curtain walls. The architects attempt to create a rhythm to the main body through alternating variations in the screen printing texture and highlight the image of the mountain through uneven and staggered vertical visual effects formed by sparsely interspersing vertical metal rods of different lengths along the terrain of roof curtain walls.
The architects leverage the gradient texture of the metal facade to represent the charm of Venetian lace—Xiaoshan lace, a native intangible cultural heritage item in Xiaoshan, which helps to integrate the delicate and exquisite traits of regions south of the Yangtze River. The kindergarten will also serve as the sales center when the property starts for sale.
