Shanghu Chengzhang Demonstration Area

Shanghu Chengzhang Demonstration Area Located in Eastern New Town, Ningbo, the Project is close to the planned “Ming Lake” Ecological Zone. The focus of the present project is how to respond to the city culture of Ningbo in a poetical fashion. We depict a scene where a hanging book pavilion is floating on the placid water surface. So then the main design concept, i.e. “Book Pavilion at Water Bank” is created. The tiered steps and stacked mountain stones are like reefs flapped by river water; in the meantime, the main building floating on the undisturbed water surface not far away constitutes the artistic conception of “Book Pavilion at Water Bank” with “book” as the principal form image. When it comes to spatial design, we lay special emphasis on poetic scene experience. Ultimately, it will turn into a cultural landmark at Ming Lake in East New Town, namely the Ming Lake Parlor.
