Ningbo Bank of China Headquarters

Anchoring the skyline in Ningbo Eastern New City and as the regional headquarters of the Bank of China, the Ningbo Bank of China building is the newest landmark in the city’s financial district. The site-specific tower—triangular in plan with rounded corners—gradually rotates around a vertical axis to engage with three distinct contexts: the city, the mountains, and the sea. Clad in a sweeping curtain of glass, the tower offers soaring, daylit spaces and uninterrupted views of the city. The building was commissioned by the Ningbo City Planning Department to redefine the typical staid architecture of the financial sector. It also complements the district master plan, enhancing the public realm and the city’s skyline.
