China World Trade Center Phase 3B

Located in the heart of Beijing, China World Trade Center (CWTC) Tower 3B includes a five-story retail podium and 59-story tower, which contains a 554-room hotel at its base, thus inverting the traditional mixed-use tower that typically locates the hotel program at the top. Taking a cue from its environment, traditional Feng Shui methods form a gentle geometry expressed in a cascade of inclined planes, shaded by deep fins, forming a cadence of tiers that subtly diminish in proportion as they approach the sky. The tower reflects Beijing’s vibrant skyline while simultaneously addressing the climate concerns of one of the country’s most populous regions.
