Century Summit · Shanghai

New Jiangwan City, located in the north of Shanghai, seems to be especially precious to have this giant urban green lung with nice water net in Shanghai.
Traditional Chinese spatial preference, based on the contradiction of relationships between inner and outer worlds, shows a trait of introversion.
The facades of Century Summit use lots of frames as formal motif. Acting as wall of yards on facades, different living units were distinguished by metal frames.
Frames helped to establish spatial gradation, and also built connections between private and public. They served as camera apertures, sending exoteric sights to those who live in, they served as showcases as well, voicing one’s own life to the exoteric.
Besides frames, deliberated details also played a very important role .
Components of which the thicknesses are no more than few millimeters contributed to delicacy of the entire facade, providing better visual perceptions to those who are very close and to those who live in.
