THE RING · LIVE

Located in Caohejing zone, The Ring·Live is the core of the Galaxy Midtown project—Shanghai’s inaugural international community centre and heralded as the “Community Flagship project” of the Xuhui district. A future-ready project that prioritises holistic spatial planning, it is envisioned as a people-centric model for the district’s urban renewal, realising the vision of better community care and life. Comprising retail, culture, public services, sports, office, and residential functions, above-ground and underground footbridges connect them to an art centre, forming a closed-circuit complex. Through careful spatial planning and integration, these functions are linked and synergised, which encourages intersecting community engagements. The design incorporated the locale’s rich landscape and cultural resources. A future transit-oriented development (TOD), it connects adjacent public buildings through multiple bridges for enhanced accessibility and a pedestrian loop.
