CHONGSHISHAN AND YUYUAN (FORMER SITE OF THE GERMAN EMBASSY)
Nestled in the verdant embrace of Nanshan Mountain in Chongqing, time seems to flow at a different pace. At the end of the winding mountain road, a place built by history and soothed by nature quietly awakens. This was once the haven sought by the German friend Paul Asmi in 1916, and it also shouldered a special diplomatic mission amidst the flames of war. Today, it has shed its former specific function and, through renovation and planning, has been transformed into a “mountain lodge” integrating guesthouses and restaurants.
