ORIENTAL VILLA

Greentown Zhenyuan is rooted in the rich cultural heritage and intangible traditions of Taizhou. Drawing inspiration from the Song Dynasty philosophy of “painting as a guide to garden-making,” it integrates the refined lifestyles of distinguished scholars across generations. Located in the heart of the city, the project creates a secluded retreat defined by the concept of “scenery before residence, with blank spaces evoking artistic conception.” Within the garden, stones are arranged to form mountains, and water is channeled to create deep pools, capturing vast landscapes within limited spaces. Through a modern reinterpretation of classical elegance, it unfolds a contemporary landscape painting—one that invites wandering, dwelling, and contemplation.
