SKYLAND DISCOVERY XI’AN

SKYLAND DISCOVERY in Xi’an redefines the dining experience within a 1,950 sqm renovation of a former food court at a popular retail development in the commercial heart of the city. Lead8’s design transforms the space into an immersive cultural destination that celebrates the city’s Silk Road heritage through a contemporary lens. The renovation strategically reconfigures circulation and sightlines, introducing a central sculptural pavilion that anchors the space across multiple levels. Layered ceilings inspired by Tang-style eaves, meandering pathways, and intimate seating pockets evoke the atmosphere of an ancient city rediscovered. Merging cultural storytelling with commercial vitality, the revitalized precinct moves beyond conventional dining hall typologies to create a fluid, connected environment that inspires exploration. The design achieves cohesion, vibrancy, and a renewed sense of place through craft, materiality, and narrative-driven spatial planning.
