SHANGHAI SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM RENOVATION PROJECT
This project marks the first and most extensive systematic renovation since the Shanghai Science and Technology Museum opened over two decades ago, aiming to establish it as a world-class model for science museums. Adopting an innovative “New-Old Fusion” renewal strategy, the project preserves the original structural framework and iconic façade while comprehensively upgrading the internal MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems. By leveraging deep integration of BIM technology, constructing a Digital Twin venue, and implementing green building strategies, the design not only successfully sustains the city’s collective memory but also reshapes the immersive experience of science education. Ultimately, it sets a new benchmark for the regeneration and upgrading of urban existing public buildings.
