CHANGCHUN WANDA MALL RAINFOREST ATRIUM

The project is situated in Changchun, Jilin Province. As a prominent feature of Changchun Wanda Mall, the 3,500-square-meter indoor tropical rainforest park forms an organic integration with the entire system. This rainforest is not merely a natural element transplanted into the architecture, but a mechanism co-participated by environment, ecology, temperature control and operation.With tropical ecology as the core motif and “Forest of Life” as the narrative thread, nearly 4,000 tropical plants belonging to 107 species are integrated into the scene system. Suspended islands, cascading waterfalls, a 22-meter-high giant tree and three aerial tree houses interweave into a landscape, forming a three-dimensional spatial narrative that allows for roaming, exploration and immersion.
