THE CENTER PLAZA RENOVATION

The Center Plaza is located in the core area of Shanghai’s Wutong District, adjacent to Anfu Road and Changshu Road. Addressing the contradiction between the site’s outdated facilities (unchanged for 20 years) and the increasingly diverse contemporary usage needs, the project carries out a landscape renovation under the concept of “Layered Upgrade, Organic Symbiosis.” Through strategies such as reshaping the entrance image, opening up enclosed boundaries, introducing multi-layered greenery and seating facilities, and creating an interactive glass-brick light wall, the once empty and desolate plaza has been transformed into an international-quality business and office campus integrating commerce, social interaction, and leisure—turning this place from a mere “passing-through” space into a vibrant urban node worth “staying at.”
