PING AN FINANCIAL CENTER, JINAN

Ping An Financial Center is a 360-metre mixed-use landmark tower at the heart of Jinan’s emerging Central Business District, positioned at the confluence of two new linear parks and directly connected to the city’s MTR system.

The tower forms a balanced asymmetric pair with its neighbor, the Metropolis Vanke Center. Connected at the podium levels, the towers establish a lattice of streets, urban squares, and outdoor rooms, creating a village-like environment embedded within the urban fabric. This porous podium edge invites people in and encourages movement, interaction, and discovery.

The design draws on the masterplan concept of ‘river’. Through the exploration of traditional themes in Chinese scroll art, an architectural language has been developed through the tower’s tapering geometry and flowing façade that evokes a sinuous water curtain, culminating in a lush sky garden at the crown.
