CHENGZHILIAN SHANGHAI XINTIANDI FUXING SONG (EXHIBITION CENTER)
Cultural Placemaking | Where Urban Spirit Becomes Identity Expression
Xintiandi bears the profound memory of Shanghai’s urban development. From the epochal spirit embodied in the Site of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China, to Shui On Xintiandi’s redefinition of urban lifestyle, and to the convergence of Haipai (Shanghai-style) culture with international aesthetics, this has always been a land where history is continuously made.
Guided by the design concept of “Cultural Placemaking,” this project does not seek to replicate historical symbols. Instead, it distills the urban spirit behind Xintiandi and translates culture into spatial experience. Through the crafted sequence of entrance rituals, artistic settings, themed tea rooms, and private exclusive spaces, users are invited to engage with the city’s memory, forge a sense of identity, and become participants in the future of urban living.
