WUXI SOUTH STATION AND SUPPORTING AREA URBAN DESIGN

With the vision of “Taihu Bay Future Port”, project explores a new integrated development model of railway station, city and landscape in the digital era, and will play a leading role in the three dimensions of green development, sharing and integration.
Located at the intersection of two major ecological wetlands, the project faces the dilemma of insufficient urban supporting functions in surrounding areas and the need for self-sustaining development. Leveraging the superimposed effects of a major transportation hub and comprehensive ecological resources, the planning constructs a highly interconnected network structure to endow the South Railway Station area with long-term vitality and overall sustainability. Starting from the hub station, four distinctive destinations are accessible within a 5-minute walk. These destinations will serve as new urban economic growth drivers, achieve independent iterative development in the future, and boost regional progress in multiple dimensions.
