DONGHU YINGWUZHOU (SHUTONG PARKAND BAOBEN TEMPLE) NIGHTSCAPE ENHANCEMENT

Donghu Yingwuzhou (Shutong Park & Baoben Temple) Nightscape Enhancement Project Located within the Donghu Scenic Area of Pinghu City, the project covers approximately 6 hectares and encompasses lighting upgrades for buildings, landscapes, and bridges within Shutong Park and Baoben Temple. Prior to the enhancement, the area suffered from poor glare control in architectural and landscape lighting, with excessive contrast between light and dark zones, resulting in a lack of distinctive features. The nightscape redesign focuses on improving both **long-distance visual appeal** and **intimate human-scale experiences**. It aims to highlight the landmark prominence of the Li Shutong Memorial Hall and Baoben Pagoda at night, while blending cultural heritage with natural poetry through lighting design, ultimately creating a poetic nightscape imbued with the traditional charm of Jiangnan.
