HIWELL AMBER CENTER – THE SILVERWATER

The design of Hiwell Amber Center – The Silverwater is both a homage and a love letter to the city of Hangzhou, blending its history and future into our design language.

It really starts with the site’s relationship with the Qiantang River. We want to celebrate this connection, and focus the residents view over the changing faces of the river. The essence of water is then brought into the apartment and informs many elements on the design.

We can refer to the movement of water in different ways. The free flow of space and movement in the apartment, the way in which different elements are curved as if carved by the water’s movement.
