HONGKONG LAND ARTISTIC BAY, CHENGDU (DEMONSTRATION AREA)

The design team paid a thorough field visit to Chengdu Hongkong Land Artistic Bay at the very beginning of the project design. The surrounding parks and lakes endow the project site with a unique and natural charm, inspiring the design theme of “Canyon · Stream Tour”. This time, we are looking for a special way to integrate the native Chengdu culture into this project at the village distinctly surrounded by woods with running water in the west of Sichuan. The design adopts the methods of ecological simulation and situation recreation to shorten the distance between man and nature in this limited urban space. Meanwhile, it deeply explores the native wood-surrounding cultural context, taking the hydrological characteristics of Sichuan as guidance to connect Dujiangyan, Minjiang River Valley and other natural landscape resources, so as to build a community-commercial and residential landscape with unique local characteristics.
