Q-SQUARE, HANGZHOU
The project is located at the southern gateway of Liangzhu district from the very beginning, and is a one-stop open shopping park integrating leisure, livability, parent-children relationship, and health care. In the overall planning structure, the design does not take a single building as the starting point of the narrative, but stands in the perspective of urban design, emphasizing the opening and linking of public space, creating a “dialogue” with the city and the surrounding area. The neighborhood is opened up to the outside in both horizontal and vertical directions: horizontally to connect the sports park and experimental elementary school, setting up a pleasant pedestrian system and various forms of shared space; vertically to introduce the natural landscape of the water system, forming a series of square public spaces, with a view to creating a new form of town center.
