ARMADA GROUP (BONICA, LOGGIA, LA BARRA, LA MEZCALERIA, TACOS EL PAISA)

The project involves the transformation of a formerly industrial structure into a F&B hub. The building was a two-story box with just a central sky shaft and a narrow back balcony as distinguishing features. The guiding principle was to break the tight volume and create semi-outdoor spaces by blurring the boundaries. An extensive use of vegetation also contributes to increase the indoor-outdoor identification. In terms of program, the project invites guests to a trip around the world, gathering memories of the owners’ upbringings. Loggia café and Bonica restaurant design is inspired by the Mediterranean al fresco dining culture. Taqueria El Paisa and La Mezcaleria bar bring the most traditional Mexican food and drinks to Shanghai. La Barra is a cocktail lounge inspired by southeast Asia common traits.
