CHONGQING LIANGJIANG INNOVATION ZONE

Green mountain, Blue lake. Green and Smart. Open and Sharing. Vibrant and Diverse. Chongqing LiangJiang Innovative Centre is a 5-cluster campus and R+D masterplan set in a dramatic valley in the east of Chongqing. The project comprises of three million square metres of accommodation, incorporating residences, convention centres, headquarter offices, a national laboratory, a “centre of ideas” and a plethora of recreational opportunities as well as the core academic facilities in a 6.8 square kilometre zone.Our aim was to develop a plan that responded to the local energy, culture and character of the site and the dynamic city of Chongqing beyond.The innovative clusters are placed according to the ecological needs of the site and are connected through a single, defining pedestrian route. New technologies are applied to all aspects of the design: sustainable, building construction; passive and smart environment management systems; integrated and autonomous transport networks.
