Elio Del Nest – The natural air-filtration residences

Elio Del Nest, is a research-driven design project, utilizing landscape’s design and functions to mitigate the city’s pollution and enhance living quality. The project is derived from the idea of a nest,the team proposed a nature-mimicry concept of urban forest to construct a natural environment that enhances human and urban creatures’ qualities of living. Whereby the Elio Del Nest is an urban nest (urbanest), giving the comfort and luxury of cleaner air, amidst the city’s pollution.Elio Del Nest is located in Bangna, a fast-growing district of Bangkok facing severe air pollution from rapid urbanization. The design team collaborated with the experts to analyze the problem and target smog reduction by researching plant capabilities and characteristics to absorb PM2.5, Carbon, VOCs and release Oxygen, and integrating the findings with the project design therefore allowing the natural landscape to become an urban air-filtration scheme.
