La Chapelle Headquarters

To meet both short-term and long-term workplace demands for La Chapelle, a series of buildings consolidate 70% of the fashion company into one location in Shanghai. Inspired by the flowing pebbles often found along river banks, the buildings’ fluid forms respond to different functional space needs with unique curvatures, efficiently linking the whole campus and nature as one entity. The facades are designed to maximize the use of natural cross-ventilation. The operable façade also helps keep the buildings cool via vertical and horizontal shading fins, which reduce energy consumption up to 13% compared with similar building types. All the sustainable solutions were simulated to prove their effectiveness and predict their performance outcomes.
