Zheng Dong·Greenland Center

The position of the twin towers is determined by the east west axis running through the main hall of the station. The twin towers occupy the corners of the East-West main accesses of the West Plaza and of Dongfeng DongLu to the East. The shape of each tower can be described as smoothly upwards winding meander which quite literally relate to the rich local culture of Zhengzhou and the Henan Province. The power of the famous Yellow River shapes the landscape, no matter if soft or hard and generates its own realm of forms. The curvy ground shapes are characteristic for a landscape defined by the power of water and thus integrates a naturally shaped object harmoniously into the park. Like the banks of the Huanghe canyons the floor slabs are shaped in a curvy linear style in which harmoniously integrated sky lobbies provide highly attractive transparent spaces for high-class functions, such as clubs, lobbies and other common activities in the building. These sky lobbies not only provide unique spaces within the towers but further more create distinctive views overlooking the grand linear park and the great terminal building of the railway station.
