A Decade’s Hall | CREDAWARD 10th Anniversary Message

Written in February,2024

As CREDAWARD marks its 10th anniversary in the blink of an eye, we extend an invitation to our esteemed judges to share a few words of reflection and encouragement on this remarkable journey.

I have been invited to serve as a judge for the “CREDAWARD” for six years. During this time, in addition to specific judging tasks, I have experienced organizational reforms and have been entrusted with the roles of Executive Judge and Overseas Secretary by all judges. During these six years:

Firstly, the influence of CREDAWARD has gradually expanded. As an international design award, it has attracted increasing participation from outstanding design agencies and product developers both domestically and internationally. This increase in participation not only witnesses the thriving development of China’s real estate and design industries but also reflects the recognition and authority of CREDAWARD within the industry.

Secondly, the selection criteria of CREDAWARD have gradually improved. From the initial criteria of “architectural aesthetics, environmental priority, user experience, and economic benefits” to the current diversified selection criteria, it can be seen that CREDAWARD continuously pursues innovation and excellence in the selection process. This continuous improvement in selection criteria not only helps to promote the overall level of design but also encourages designers to innovate in design concepts and methods.

In addition, CREDAWARD has responded positively and made contributions to social sustainable development, from initially focusing on real estate design to broader attention to urban design and public buildings. By selecting and promoting excellent design works, it encourages designers to pay more attention to environmental protection, energy conservation, and emission reduction, promoting the development of the design industry towards a greener and more environmentally friendly direction.

After ten years of persistence, CREDAWARD is highly recognized by the industry, based on its adherence to selection principles and criteria. It not only emphasizes the innovation and aesthetics of design but also emphasizes the practicality, sustainability, and economic viability of design. This selection concept not only meets the needs of the times but also meets people’s pursuit of a better life and investors’ pursuit of commercial returns. Meanwhile, CREDAWARD also provides an open platform for communication and learning for owners and designers through various activities and forums, promoting more potential cooperation.

Once again, congratulations to CREDAWARD on its tenth anniversary, and I look forward to CREDAWARD continuing its original intention. The next ten years will be equally splendid, injecting new vitality into the industry’s development.

A Message for CREDAWARD

Written in 2015

From the perspective of commercial real estate, the overall product quality in Asia is slightly higher than that in Europe because it pays more attention to creating a commercial atmosphere, consumer interests, and experiential aspects. Many good designs in the West pay great attention to details and craftsmanship, focusing on operations, economic analysis, and precise consumer targeting.

Therefore, we hope to use the platform of CREDAWARD to facilitate communication and exchange between the domestic and foreign real estate industries, introduce excellent foreign cases and companies to China, and showcase outstanding domestic companies abroad. This will be a very meaningful endeavor.

Interpretation of "Good Design in Real Estate"

Written in 2018

China has passed through the rapid development period of large-scale demolition and construction, and the demand for quality has become increasingly urgent. It has gradually entered an era where product quality is paramount, requiring designs to be more refined, substantive, and respectful of the experiential aspect. Therefore, a good real estate project should be patient, withstand the test of time, and ideally yield satisfactory returns.

—— 5TH Anniversary of CREDAWARD

Written in 2021

We hope to work with all parties in the real estate and design industries to reshape the present monotonous citiy into a more personal and aesthetically attractive living space. Perhaps the CREDAWARD is like “throwing one stone into a lake”, which symbolizes it will have a ripple effect on the real estate and design industry. But I believe more and more people will see the beauty in the ripples.

Future Trends in Real Estate Design

Written in July, 2022

Real estate is a broad concept, and the idea of “just living, not speculating” applies to residential real estate, while commercial, public, medical, and educational buildings, among other formats, also fall within the scope of real estate. These categories of buildings undergo continuous updates and keep pace with the times.

In the future, there will undoubtedly be a more detailed division within the industry; the timelines for architectural design, approval, and construction will be extended, with higher demands placed on the narrative and quality of the products. This will bring new pressures and innovation demands to the real estate industry.

Medium and small-scale real estate projects will become more popular, with an emphasis on product features, overall planning, marketing strategies, and operational management being key development trends. This will also lead real estate practitioners to pay more attention to overall professional quality improvement.
