SHENZHEN LONGGANG ELDERLY AND NURSING HOME

Guided by the core concept of “growing with the sun, vertical forest, and three-dimensional community”, the design rotates and staggers the building volumes according to the sun’s trajectory. This ensures adequate daylight for every room while minimizing sunlight obstruction to the surrounding high-rise residential buildings. The stepped setbacks create a three-dimensional sky garden, forming a vertical forest that provides convenient and safe outdoor spaces. As a healthcare facility embedded within the city, the design not only responds to the tight site constraints but also vertically distributes activity spaces across different floors through the “three-dimensional community” model. This approach aims to transform the nursing home from an enclosed “island” into a hub that activates the surrounding community, thereby advancing the future development of elderly care and well-being.
