THEPWATANA SOLAR PARKING ROOF

The Thepwatana Solar Parking Roof is conceived as an iconic landmark for the headquarters of Thepwatana, a global agricultural chemical manufacturer founded in 1965. Rooted in the company’s long-standing environmental commitment, the project integrates sustainable strategies with a strong identity-driven design approach. Inspired by the trumpet-shaped Morning Glory flower, the sculptural roof channels rainwater toward a central point, echoing the logic of a morning glory spillway. The structure employs glulam timber members radiating from a single column, spanning up to 16 meters per unit while providing generous shading. Integrated solar panels and EV chargers form a cohesive clean-energy system, while permeable pavement and rainwater harvesting enhance environmental performance. Beyond a conventional parking canopy, the project becomes an architectural statement that expresses sustainability, innovation, and corporate identity in one unified gesture.
