URBAN DESIGN FOR SHANGHAI CENTRAL LOOP AREA
The “Shanghai Loop” derives from Shanghai’s layered urban development, evolving from an urban sprawl containment boundary into a comprehensive carrier for urban renewal. Located at the city’s geometric center, it is empowered by transit, ecological and innovation rings to boost networking and polycentric development, shaping a brand-new urban spatial pattern. The southern Middle Ring integrates riverside advantages and industrial upgrading potential. Centered on Metro Line 26’s fast-slow line system, it reshapes regional space via transportation hubs and multi-level networks. Combined with ecological corridors and characteristic nodes, it blends waterfront culture and humanity to build a future-oriented urban value corridor.
