SHENZHEN SPORTS CENTER

Shenzhen Sports Center, first built in 1985, is a landmark cultural and sports facility constructed in the early stage of Shenzhen’s reform and opening-up. After five years of comprehensive upgrading and renovation, the project has been transformed into a comprehensive urban sports complex integrating professional event hosting and public fitness services.
Adopting a holistic and multi-dimensional renewal strategy, this renovation project revitalizes the vitality of the district by stitching urban spaces, optimizing transportation systems and incorporating diversified functions. It unlocks the potential of existing stadium resources through differentiated renewal. Combined with residential needs, the scheme integrates daily life scenarios and improves spatial quality. Centered on human-oriented principles, the renewal model of this project offers innovative ideas and practical references for the renovation and renewal of large public buildings in the new era.
