TANG RESIDENCE (EXHIBITION CENTER)

The Tang Mansion, a precious century-old building constructed in 1906, features a Neoclassical Veranda-style architecture. It is most renowned as the former residence of Tang Shaoyi, the first Premier of the Republic of China, who lived here for 18 years and hosted important historical figures like Sun Yat-sen and Liang Qichao. The development project follows the philosophy of “restoring the old to its original state” while incorporating modern innovation. It preserves the original Shikumen architectural style within the site, while new structures, with their simple lines and glass curtain walls, create a visual “dialogue between the old and the new.”
