SHANGHAI C&D HAICHEN (DEMONSTRATION AREA)
Shanghai Haichen Project draws its overall form from the Shanghai municipal flower, the magnolia. It extracts the century‑old texture of Shanghai style and encapsulates the soul of the city’s emblematic flower. The crown of the building resembles a blooming magnolia, with 24 curved metal panels layered to embody upward vitality. Casting petal‑shaped shadows in the sunlight, it echoes the stone‑gate patterned ground carvings in the distance. This is a contemporary tribute to the magnolia in the longtang alleys, and a physical declaration of the city’s pride.
