CHINA OVERSEAS YANGPU YUN DI CHAPTER 9, SHANGHAI

The project is located in Yangpu District, Shanghai, adjacent to the Yangpu Riverside Industrial Belt. The industrial zone along Yangpu Riverside is one of the birthplaces of modern industry in Shanghai and even across China, serving as the cradle where China’s early industry took root and thrived. The site of this project was originally the Second Workshop of the Former Dakang Cotton Mill. During the design phase, in-depth research was conducted and extensive literature was reviewed. Three core characteristics were ultimately summarized and reproduced in the design: 1.Overall layout: modular texture and row-style arrangement. 2.Roof form: double-sloped roof. 3.Decorative features: semicircular arches, flat arches, square window styles, as well as terrace and railing designs.
