SHENZHEN BAY MIXC PHASE II – THE WAVE

Conceived as a tranquil, human-scaled cityscape within Shenzhen’s waterfront, THE WAVE is a landmark civic and cultural destination that offers a place to gather, linger, and connect — woven through a composition of standalone buildings, a circular sunken plaza, and interactive water features. The water feature serves as the defining element of the development, realised through a custom-designed acrylic curtain wall that mimics the fluidity of water. A layered public realm guides movement through a sequence of immersive spaces, descending through water-inspired forms to a sunken civic plaza below grade — where the landscape opens to performance, festivals, and public life. Located within the Houhai Central Business District, THE WAVE forms the civic heart of the broader Shenzhen Bay masterplan — a five-plot development anchored by the KPF-designed China Resources Tower.
