COFCO QIANHAI INNOVATION CENTER

This state-of-the-art headquarters and multi-tenant office complex is located in Shenzhen, China. The 190,000-square-meter development is defined by two nearly identical towers, each crowned with a large, glass-enclosed atrium. Sited next to an urban green belt and local park, the towers are oriented to face this context and integrate seamlessly with the environment. The buildings are rectangular in shape, with one tapered side to provide expansive views of Qianhai Bay. The 200-meter COFCO Asia Pacific Tower houses the headquarters of COFCO Group, while the 180-meter Aviva-COFCO Tower is dedicated to Aviva-COFCO Life Insurance. The towers feature a unique design, each composed of three slender masses where the upper levels are carved back and exposed to reveal an open atrium and separate outdoor sky terrace. These atria foster collaboration and connectivity, creating an “urban village in the sky” with transparent cable walls that visually connect the towers to the surrounding city.
