SUZHOU QIANDENG SHIPU NEIGHBORHOOD MARKET

The project is located in Shipu Town, Qiandeng, Suzhou City, at the intersection of the Jiangnan watertown and the urban-rural fringe. The site originally included a farmers’ market and a wedding event center, characterized by disorganized spatial arrangements and poor environmental quality. The design adopts a functional integration strategy, transforming the two facilities into a unified building, optimizing spatial layout and circulation organization. Upon completion, the building not only enhances the regional landscape but also significantly improves the quality of daily living spaces for residents, serving as a exemplary case for urban renewal. Through a rent reduction policy, the project creates employment opportunities for disabled individuals and disadvantaged groups, demonstrating the synergistic improvement of social benefits and spatial quality.
