THE COLLEGE OF SHANGHAI LAUSANNE HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT (SLH) AT SHANGHAI BUSINESS SCHOOL

The project aims to establish a brand-new education and industry integration-oriented hotel management college with high standards. Numerous buildings and lush trees dating from the 1950s are scattered throughout the campus. Following the background of the national promotion of urban micro-upgrading, the principle of preserving historical building elements as much as possible, and respecting the original city scape, based on detailed on-site research, gmp has made reasonable strategies for demolition, renovation, and repair were determined for both the buildings and the landscape. For the buildings, the design concept of “respecting and restoring history ” was proposed, and the highlights were “complementing the new with the new” and integrated into the overall design plan. For the landscape, the design idea of “preserving the unique campus landscape style and providing an ecological greenery” was put forward.
