Wandering Walls

Shadowed in nature, Wandering Walls is a boutique hotel bringing visitors closer to the raw elements. As a lighting design project, this was a deeply creative exercise in material exploration, harmony with site, and budget constraint. The reigning lighting concept is the achievement of balance between comfortable hospitality and a minimal environmental footprint. Due to strong local winds and high humidity, ingress protection rating of lighting fixtures was critical. Facade lighting emphasizes the curved, asymmetrical structure flying outward, employing subtle illumination from within to reduce light pollution and allow full immersion into the myriad textures of the surrounding natural environment.
