YIWU PLACE
Yiwu Place, also known as Yiwu Xiachemeng, is a contemporary mixed-use commercial complex that incorporates a rich variety of architectural forms, communal areas, and traditional materials to promote urban exploration and interaction. Inspired by the essence of European cities, like Covent Garden in London and Campo Marzio in Rome, the masterplan reinterprets traditional commercial architecture through a multifaceted, modern lens to promote exploration and interaction among its visitors. The urban plan and individual buildings were designed to engage the senses, inspire curiosity and serve as a dynamic foreground to neighbouring residential towers. Gates, expressive corners, and defined vistas enhance wayfinding and visual interest throughout the district. Key landmarks such as The Market and The Basilica enrich the overall urban experience. Though primarily retail-focused, Yiwu Place accommodates a flexible and layered environment that integrates hospitality, culture and community.
