Located in the heart of Chongqing’s Old City core, within a traditional conservation district adjacent to the renowned Shibati Core Heritage Area, the design aims to create a fresh new destination in the city’s historic center. Surrounded by national heritage sites such as the former French Consulate and numerous historic buildings, the project occupies a highly significant location. The design addresses its most critical challenge: harmonizing modern and traditional architectural styles in this sensitive central zone, achieving a win-win scenario that both revitalizes cultural relics and rejuvenates the historic district. This effort contributes to the renewal of Chongqing’s iconic Old City core.
