GUANGZHOU COB ONE OASIS (EXHIBITION CENTER)

The Guangzhou COB One Oasis Exhibition Center , a major urban development in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, features an exhibition center inspired by banyan tree ecology. Dubbed “Forest Sanctuary,” its vertical design mirrors tree stratification: a raised ground floor blends with nature, a spacious second level combines reception, display, and discussion zones, and a private rooftop garden crowns the structure. Reinventing the Domino System, colossal columns balance structural innovation with organic symbolism. Materials articulate this dialogue – dark stone pillars evoke tree trunks, honeycomb panels create weightless surfaces, while translucent glass walls with rhythmic lighting mimic firefly activity. This architectural synthesis merges functional modernity with natural allegory, using arboreal motifs to reinterpret contemporary living ideals through spatial layering and material tactility. The project frames urban development as an act of ecological symbiosis.
