The Cool Docks

The project, located on the bund in Shanghai, has become one of the most famous names in Shanghai. Covering an area of about 16,000 square meters, the former Shanghai oil factory was transformed into a fashionable commercial landmark of Shanghai after ten years of renovation. Now the old wharf is finally upgraded again in 2019. The purpose of this renovation is to upgrade the culture, environment and art comprehensively by combing the functions, arranging the facade and updating the materials, so as to give the old wharf a new look. In this second renewal of the old wharf, the architects, influenced by the “porosity theory”, transformed the park into a sponge with infinite potential, with boundaries but with openings, and the interior and exterior became more organic, creating endless possibilities for the activities of urban residents.
