“With the Covid19 Pandemic, I believe that there will be both short term and long term changes that affect landscape architecture. The short term reveals the need or necessity to have open space for recreation, and to have open street programs that are geared towards practices of safe social distancing. We see there is a vital need to have parks, plazas, and open space. The long term sees that programming of those spaces are not necessarily as important as just having the physical space available. Having the space available to be flexible and multi-functional is important will allow for many different seen and unforeseen activities to occur. Public and private budgets should also be expanded to allow for this.
