MIYA LOSTVILLA Huchen Barn Resort

Miya / LostVilla Hotel is located in Ninghai County HuChen township. The hotel is converted from an old Barn station built in 1956. The site consists of six renovated buildings and one new addition which functions as reception and meeting facility.

The renovation process is taking on a sensitive approach to the surrounding beautiful scenery and the existing Barn buildings adjacent. By analyzing the new functions of these buildings and reorganizing circulation path onsite, several courtyard spaces being created in between the seven buildings. The abstract architecture form of the new building added on site forms a contrast between nature and manmade objects.

Our design approach is to engage a dialogue between the old and new buildings as well as a dialogue between architecture, mountain scenery and people.
